Shabbat Shalom from Bet!

Bet Session has gotten off to a great start!

Last night the chuggim sign up skits that the madrichim put on were very funny!  The chanichim have signed up for their favorite activities with vigor.  The drama, basketball, swimming, boating, a cappela, set design and hippie chuggim are the most popular so far.    Kosher Kung Fu: the School of the Macabee have started their chug today, and it's awesome to see the increase in confidence and discipline. It is fantastic to see so many chanichim in our gaga pits, on the soccer field and in the arts and crafts room during free time. This morning at t'fillah it was fantastic to hear so many voices filled with ruach! With 300 people in the amphitheater, camp has a very exciting feel. The chanichim love their odedim already too! Tzrif (cabin) bonding has gone very well so far, I love seeing so many chanichim making new friends so quickly. The chanichim are doing great so far, we have talented athletes, musicians, artists and a few comedians in this group of bet campers!

We are so excited, Shabbat is a very special time at Camp Solomon Schechter.  The smell of the chicken soup and matzoh balls cooking and that of freshly baked challah are making some mouths water.  The madrichim and odedim are waiting in anticipation for the moment when they can bless the campers and then get their tzrif singing and dancing. Shabbat programming is different than the rest of the week, the chanichim will love the free time and the time at the waterfront.

Don't forget to check out the photos on Bunk1. Please call or e mail with your questions or comments, but please be aware that the office will be closed until after Shabbat.

May all of us be blessed with a Shabbat of joy and rest!

Shabbat Shalom!
